Bratislava Zoo (Slovakia)

Weather…

Opened in 1960, the Bratislava Zoo spans a pretty 96-hectare forest and meadow landscape in the Mlynská dolina valley. Over the decades, the institution has developed into a crucial center for species conservation and plays a leading role in numerous European endangered species breeding programs. Special attention is given to the breeding of rare big cats, including the Sri Lankan leopard and the majestic white tiger, whose enclosures are among the main attractions. The expansive grounds provide the more than one thousand animals with species-appropriate habitats that closely mimic nature. In addition to the exotic fauna, the integrated Dinopark, featuring life-size models of prehistoric reptiles, is a highly popular draw for families. Through continuous modernization, such as the construction of the new primate pavilion, the zoo solidifies its position as a premier educational and recreational facility in the Slovak capital.
