Subotica Industrial Zone (Serbia)

Weather…

The Subotica Industrial Zone, also known as the "Mali Bajmok" Free Zone, is one of the most successful locations for foreign direct investment in northern Serbia. Geographically advantaged by its immediate proximity to the Hungarian border and connection to the E75 highway, it has become a magnet for global corporations since 2010. Companies such as Siemens, Continental, Swarovski, and Ametek operate large production facilities here, manufacturing wind turbine generators, electronic components, and high-quality consumer goods for the global market. The zone features investors special tax benefits and excellent infrastructure, making Subotica one of the most dynamic economic regions in the country. More than 6,000 people find employment here, which has drastically reduced the local unemployment rate and strengthened the economic fabric of the Banat and Bačka regions. In addition to the manufacturing industry, the zone benefits from close cooperation with technical vocational schools and the university to secure a highly skilled workforce. It is seen today as a prime example of Serbia's economic reintegration into European value chains.
