Ndora

Ndora is a sector and the capital of the Gisagara district in the Southern Province of Rwanda. It is a small but important administrative and commercial center for the surrounding, heavily agricultural region. The landscape around Ndora is relatively flat, which favors the cultivation of crops such as rice, maize, and beans. The proximity of the large Gisagara peat power plant plays an increasingly important role for the local economy. Ndora has a lively local market where surrounding farmers sell their produce. The town is connected by a good road to Huye, the most important urban center in the south, which facilitates trade and access to higher-level services.
