Świeradów-Zdrój is located in the heart of the Jizera Mountains near the Czech border. The town is famous for its radon springs and therapeutic mud (borowina). Its most iconic building is the Spa House (Dom Zdrojowy), featuring a 46-meter tower and an 80-meter-long larch walking gallery decorated with beautiful polychromes. The town is a paradise for active travelers. A modern gondola lift takes visitors to the Stóg Izerski peak, a starting point for hiking and a popular ski area in winter. The region's 'Single Track' mountain bike trails are among the best in Europe. Another highlight is the Sky Walk, an observation tower with a glass walkway over the edge. Culinary offerings include Silesian dishes and influences from nearby Bohemia. Access is mostly via Jelenia Góra. The best time to visit is winter for skiers, or summer and autumn for hikers and cyclists.
