The Sądecki Beskids (Beskid Sądecki) rise as an impressive part of the Western Carpathians, and are decisively divided into two massive mountain blocks by the spectacular gorge of the Poprad River: the Radziejowa range to the west and the Jaworzyna Krynicka range to the east. The steep slopes, densely covered with Carpathian beech forests and spruce, are characteristic of the sandstone-dominated relief. However, what makes these mountains truly unique is their enormous hydrogeological wealth: a complex system of deep faults forces carbonated water to the surface, creating the highest concentration of highly mineralized healing springs in all of Poland. Around these springs, elegant spa towns such as Krynica-Zdrój and Muszyna developed in the 19th century; with their historic wooden architecture, they still exude the flair of the Austro-Hungarian Empire today and make the mountains a premier center for health and active tourism.

Expect substantial elevation changes as trails climb from the deep Poprad river valley onto the high, forested ridges. The tracks are well-trodden but can be quite steep and rocky, demanding a reasonable level of physical fitness.
What to bring
Solid hiking boots with good traction are required for the steep valley ascents and occasionally muddy ridge trails. Given the varied topography, bringing hiking poles can significantly reduce the strain on your knees during long descents.

Ample parking options are usually available within the region's spa towns and at dedicated tourist trailheads. Many of these organized parking areas operate on a pay-and-display basis, so check the signs and have the appropriate payment method ready.
Safety
The trails are generally safe, but weather can be unpredictable on the higher ridges, bringing sudden drops in temperature. It is advisable to stick to the marked routes, as the dense forests can make navigation incredibly challenging if you stray off the path.
