The Purcari Estate was founded in 1827 and is the oldest winery in the Republic of Moldova. It is located in the Ștefan Vodă district, a region with a microclimate similar to that of the famous Bordeaux area, providing good conditions for growing high-quality grape varieties. Purcari achieved worldwide fame when its 'Negru de Purcari' wine won the first gold medal for a Moldovan wine at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878. Subsequently, the estate supplied royal courts across Europe, including the British royal court. After a period of neglect during the Soviet era, the winery was extensively restored and modernized in the early 2000s. Today, Purcari is a flagship of Moldova's export economy, selling its award-winning wines to over 30 countries worldwide. The combination of historical heritage, state-of-the-art cellar technology, and ecologically sustainable viticulture makes Purcari a leading player in the international wine market.
