Pommer Mansion (Țaul) (Moldova)

Weather…

The Pommer Mansion in Țaul is one of the most impressive aristocratic estates in Moldova, constructed between 1901 and 1912. It served as the residence of banker Andrei Pommer, who envisioned the estate as a luxurious countryside retreat in the northern part of the country. The main building features an eclectic architectural style, blending Neoclassical elements with traditional Moldovan decorative motifs. Surrounding the mansion is the largest park in the country, spanning approximately 46 hectares and hosting over 150 different species of trees and shrubs from across the globe. The landscape was meticulously designed to include artificial ponds, winding alleys, and scenic viewpoints, making it a masterpiece of landscape architecture. Despite suffering neglect during the Soviet era, significant efforts have been made in recent years to restore the property and open it to the public. It remains a vital example of the rural heritage of the Moldovan upper class at the beginning of the 20th century.
