Plaiul Niorcani is a prominent plateau in northern Moldova, near the city of Soroca, geomorphologically defined as a high terrace of the Dniester River. The relief is characterized by a relatively flat surface that drops steeply towards the Dniester Valley, forming impressive limestone cliffs. Geologically, the plateau consists of layers of Sarmatian limestone and Cretaceous deposits, often covered by fertile loess soils. Its location has wide panoramic views over the Dniester Canyon and the surrounding hilly landscape. Through the erosive power of wind and water, bizarre rock formations and small caves have emerged at the edges of the plateau.
