New Ansembourg Castle (Luxembourg)

Weather…

The New Castle of Ansembourg is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture in Luxembourg, built in the 17th century by the industrialist Thomas Bidart. Originally designed as a residence for an ironworks owner, it was expanded in the 18th century by the Counts of Marchant and Ansembourg into a magnificent noble seat. The castle is particularly famous for its extensive terraced gardens, adorned with numerous statues, fountains, and a 200-meter-long hornbeam alley. The gardens are considered one of the most significant examples of horticultural art in the region and are now open to the public. The castle itself has served as a spiritual center for Soka Gakkai International since the 1980s, yet remains an important historical landmark in the Valley of the Seven Castles. The harmonious connection between grand architecture and geometrically laid out parklands makes it a popular destination for culture enthusiasts.
