Kehlen is located in the west-central part of Luxembourg in the Capellen canton and is a municipality with deeply rooted historical origins. Archaeological excavations have shown that the region was densely populated as early as the Gallo-Roman era, particularly with pottery workshops and estates on the Kehlen plateau. The town is often associated with the Schloossbierg, an elevation offering strategically valuable views over the surrounding countryside. Traditionally, Kehlen was a center for agriculture and crafts, which is still reflected today in the well-preserved farmhouses of the village center. In recent decades, however, the municipality has evolved into a preferred residential area for commuters working in the nearby capital. The geographic landscape features a mix of high plateaus and deeply cut valleys typical of the Gutland region. A cultural highlight is the preservation of annual traditions and the presence of local craft businesses that maintain the historical identity of the town.
