Hollenfels Castle (Luxembourg)

Weather…

Hollenfels Castle is located in the photogenic Valley of the Seven Castles and is known for its imposing keep, which rises 23 meters high. Its history dates back to the 11th century, and its architecture is now mainly defined by the massive Gothic tower and a palace-like residential building from the 18th century. The castle was built on a rock overlooking the river Eisch and served for centuries as a strategic control point for the region. After World War II, the complex was converted into a youth hostel in 1947, making it a spirited destination for young travelers and school groups. Adjacent to the castle is an ecological center dedicated to environmental education. The combination of medieval defensive architecture and modern pedagogical use makes Hollenfels a unique monument in the heart of Luxembourg.
