Hachiville, located in the far north of Luxembourg in the canton of Clervaux, is a site of exceptional art-historical significance. Belonging to the Wincrange municipality, the village is located in a hilly, wooded landscape right on the Belgian border. The village's centerpiece is its parish church, which houses the renowned Hachiville Retable, a late-Gothic masterpiece of Flemish woodcarving dating from the early 16th century. In addition to the church, the Helzerklaus hermitage, one of the country's oldest pilgrimage sites, serves as a major cultural monument. Historically, Hachiville was a key stopover for centuries along the ancient trade routes between the Ardennes and the lowlands. Geographically, the area is defined by its rugged climate and expansive uplands, ideally suited for modern agriculture and wind power generation. The village exudes a deep spiritual calm and attracts those interested in culture and the intersection of sacred art and untouched nature. The community places great importance on preserving the Helzerklaus, which draws numerous pilgrims every August 15th.
