Qandulah is a small village in the al-Jabal al-Akhdar District of northeastern Libya. It is located in the heart of the Green Mountain, a region renowned for its scenic beauty and Mediterranean microclimate. Due to its location on one of the higher points of the plateau, temperatures here are significantly cooler than in the rest of the country, and snow occasionally falls during winter. The surroundings of Qandulah are characterized by pine and juniper forests as well as fertile farmland. Residents primarily sustain themselves through agriculture, particularly cereal cultivation and small-scale livestock farming. Historically, the region served as a retreat for resistance fighters during various periods of foreign occupation. The village's architecture is simple and functional, often utilizing local limestone for construction. Qandulah features a glimpse into the traditional rural life of Cyrenaica, far removed from the major urban centers. Its relative isolation has helped preserve many local customs and traditions.
