The Riga Art Nouveau Museum is located at Alberta Street 12, one of the city's most famous streets for architectural enthusiasts. It is housed in the former apartment of the renowned Latvian architect Konstantīns Pēkšēns, who designed the building in 1903. The centerpiece of the house is the remarkable staircase, featuring a monumental spiral design and intricate ceiling paintings, widely considered one of the most beautiful in the Baltic states. The museum showcases an authentically reconstructed apartment of a wealthy Riga resident from the early 20th century, complete with original furniture, textiles, and everyday household items. Visitors can explore various rooms, from the formal drawing room to the functional kitchen, gaining a deep insight into the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau period. Riga has one of the world's highest concentrations of Art Nouveau architecture, and this museum serves as the excellent starting point to understand the city's rich building history.
