Pelči is renowned for the Pelči Manor, one of the most magnificent manor houses in Courland, built at the dawn of the 20th century. Constructed between 1904 and 1907 for the Prince von Lieven family, the manor was designed by the prominent architect Wilhelm Neumann in a refined Neo-Renaissance style. The building was technologically advanced for its time, featuring one of the first central heating and private water supply systems in the region. Its architectural character is defined by an asymmetrical red-brick facade and intricate interior decorations, including ornate tiled stoves and plasterwork. Historically significant, the manor served as the headquarters for the German Army Group Courland during the final stages of World War II. Today, the manor houses a local school and is set within a 9-hectare landscape park that contains a diverse collection of rare and exotic tree species.
