💡 Tips
- Duty-free limits apply at the border; keep receipts and check quotas for alcohol and tobacco.
- Take advantage of the free local bus network instead of driving in the village.
- The high altitude (1816m) means very strong sun; pack high SPF sunscreen even in winter.
- The main street is fully pedestrianized, so it is best to leave your car at the hotel.

Try local cold cuts at an alpine stube or the local dairy (Latteria).

Water temperature…
Livigno sits at 1,816 meters in a wide, sunny valley between the Stelvio and Swiss Engadine National Parks. Known as 'Little Tibet' due to its high altitude and cold winter temperatures, it enjoys duty-free status granted in the 16th century, making it a hotspot for shopping. The village stretches along the valley floor with characteristic wooden chalets. The resort is famous for its long ski season, often lasting from November to early May. It features two main ski areas, Carosello 3000 and Mottolino, the latter housing one of the world's best snowparks. In summer, Livigno becomes a premier destination for mountain bikers (Mottolino Bike Park) and high-altitude training for elite athletes. Winter access is primarily through the single-lane Munt-la-Schera tunnel from Switzerland. For relaxation, Aquagranda is one of Europe's largest integrated wellness and water sports centers. Local dishes often include bresaola (cured beef) and hearty mountain stews. Best visited in late winter for sun-soaked skiing or July for alpine hiking.
