Ponte di Legno, located at 1,258 meters, was among the first luxury mountain resorts in Italy, established in the early 20th century. Unlike purpose-built resorts, it is an authentic alpine village with a pedestrianized center and historic architecture. It is the primary hub for the Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area. A standout feature is the Presena Glacier, reaching 3,000 meters, which ensures a long ski season and high-altitude conditions. The long runs descend from the glacier through larch forests down to the village. In summer, the Adamello Regional Park has extensive hiking trails and a world-class bike park. It also hosts one of Europe's highest altitude golf courses. The town is accessible from Brescia or Bergamo through the scenic Val Camonica. Local gastronomy features 'Casoncelli' pasta and regional 'Silter' cheese. The best time for glacier skiing is March and April, while August is the peak month for alpine trekking and festivals.
