Sisangan National Park (Iran)

Weather…

Sisangan National Park is a beautiful forest park with extraordinary features in Mazandaran province, directly bordering the coastline of the Caspian Sea. It was established in 1965, primarily to protect the impressive population of the rare and historically valuable Caspian box tree. The park covers an area slightly exceeding 600 hectares, and its main attraction is given by its special geographical location: the dense forests extend at certain points to just a few meters from the sandy shores of the sea. Alongside the box trees, massive ancient oaks and fig trees dominate the lush vegetation. The national park is divided into two main zones; a section developed for tourism purposes, and a strictly protected nature reserve zone.
