Weather…

Tuolba-Sauoivi is a remote peak located in the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area, in the far northwest of Finland. This region is the only part of the country that extends into the Scandinavian Mountains (Scandes). The geology of Tuolba-Sauoivi is characterized by Caledonian thrust sheets, which distinguishes it from the more rounded fells of central Lapland. Historically, the mountain served as a landmark for nomadic Sami people migrating with their reindeer between summer and winter pastures. The surrounding environment is a harsh high-altitude tundra where the wind blows almost continuously and temperatures remain low even in summer. The flora is restricted to Arctic-alpine specialists that can tolerate extreme cold and snow loads. Tuolba-Sauoivi embodies the wild, untamed side of the Finnish Arctic.
