Mirpur Khas is the fourth largest city in the Sindh province of Pakistan and serves as the administrative capital of the Mirpur Khas District. Historically, the city was established in 1806 by Mir Ali Murad Talpur, a ruler from the Talpur dynasty, and it has since grown into a vital regional commercial hub. The city is globally renowned for its high-quality mango production, particularly the Sindhri variety, which is often referred to as the king of mangoes in the region. Geographically, it is located on the edge of the Thar Desert, making it a critical point for trade between the desert regions and the fertile Indus Valley. The city also gained historical significance during the British era as a major station on the meter-gauge railway line that connected the Indian subcontinent. Today, Mirpur Khas continues to be an agricultural powerhouse, supporting thousands of farmers and contributing significantly to the provincial economy through its fruit exports and textile industries.
