Gazebo of Seminario Park (Ecuador)

Weather…

The Glorieta del Parque Seminario is an elegant gazebo located in the heart of Seminario Park in Guayaquil, often referred to as 'Iguana Park.' This wrought-iron structure was crafted in a Neo-Gothic style during the late 19th century and stands as a fine example of the era's urban architecture. Its intricate lattice work and octagonal design reflect the European influences that were prevalent in South American city planning at the time. The park itself was renovated in 1895 thanks to a donation from Manuel Suárez Seminario, after whom it is named. Historically, the gazebo served as a bandstand for military orchestras and musical performances that were central to the city's social life. Today, it is a favorite spot for visitors to relax and watch the hundreds of land iguanas that roam freely through the gardens. Located just across from the Metropolitan Cathedral, the gazebo provides a pretty focal point for one of the city's oldest and most beloved public spaces.
