Milovice has a unique history. Once a large military training area, it became the headquarters of Soviet troops after 1968. After their departure in 1991, the area was revitalized. Another part became a nature reserve where wild horses and wisents were introduced to maintain the landscape. This contrast makes Milovice a special destination. The town is easily accessible by train from Prague, making it a good day trip. The best time to visit is from late spring to early autumn.
