Prelog is a characterful town in the Međimurje region of northernmost Croatia, situated directly on the banks of the Drava River. The first written mention of the town dates back to 1264, making it one of the oldest settlements in the region. Prelog is well known for its Baroque architecture, particularly the 18th-century Church of St. Jacob, which is considered one of the most beautiful sacral buildings in northern Croatia. The creation of the Dubrava reservoir in the 1980s significantly altered the town's landscape, and it now provides numerous opportunities for water tourism and fishing. The town's economy is strongly driven by the metal and furniture industries, making Prelog one of the most economically stable locations in Međimurje. Every year, the town hosts significant speedway racing events that attract an international audience. The combination of rich historical heritage, industrial innovation, and its riverside location makes Prelog an attractive place to both live and visit.
