Koh Kong Special Economic Zone (Cambodia)

Weather…

The Koh Kong Special Economic Zone (KKSEZ) is located in the far southwest of Cambodia, directly on the border with Thailand at the Cham Yeam border crossing. Established by the LYP Group, the zone leverages its strategic location on the Gulf of Thailand to attract Thai and international investors. The zone has specialized in manufacturing automotive parts and electronics, with companies like the Japanese Yazaki Group operating significant plants here. KKSEZ provides a logistical advantage for firms integrated into Thai industrial chains, as the transport route to Bangkok is significantly shorter than to Phnom Penh. The zone has contributed decisively to diversifying the local economy of Koh Kong Province, which previously depended heavily on fishing and agriculture. Modern infrastructure and government tax incentives make KKSEZ an attractive location for cross-border production along the Southern Economic Corridor.
