The village of Chi Phat in Koh Kong province was transformed by the Wildlife Alliance into a sustainable tourism destination. Former poachers and loggers now work as guides, showcasing the immense biodiversity of the Cardamom Mountains. Activities range from multi-day jungle treks and mountain biking to kayaking on the Phipot River. Accommodation is primarily provided through homestays or simple guesthouses run by local families. Natural highlights in the surrounding area include waterfalls, bat caves, and ancient forest burial sites. The village is reached via Andoung Teuk, from where visitors take a boat or motorbike taxi. The dry season from November to May is the most practical time to travel, as the forest trails become extremely muddy and difficult to navigate during the monsoon.
