Koh Rong is the second largest island of Cambodia and the most prominent tourist destination in the Gulf of Thailand. Located about 25 kilometers off the coast of Sihanoukville, it has 43 kilometers of pristine coastline with remarkable stretches like Long Beach and Sok San Beach. The island's interior is densely forested, offering jungle trekking opportunities leading to hidden waterfalls. While the village of Koh Touch serves as the bustling epicenter for backpackers and lively parties, other parts of the island remain quiet and secluded. One of the most magical experiences on Koh Rong is swimming with bioluminescent plankton that sparkles in the shallow waters after dark. The dry season from November to May provides the best beach weather, with calm seas making the ferry crossing pleasant and reliable.
