The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Braslaw was constructed in 1897 in a striking Neo-Romanesque style, utilizing red brick and unhewn fieldstones. Located at the foot of the ancient castle hill, the church is a prominent landmark in the Belarusian Lake District. It replaced an earlier wooden structure dating back to the 15th century, reflecting the town's growth in the late 19th century. The interior houses the revered Icon of the Mother of God of Braslaw, also known as the Queen of the Lakes, which received a papal coronation in 1999. During the Soviet era, the church served as a granary but was fortunately preserved and returned to the Catholic community in the 1990s. Its architecture features massive walls, tall arched windows, and a distinctive bell tower that provides a panoramic view of the surrounding glacial landscape.
