💡 Tips
- The hike down the canyon takes about 30-45 minutes; wear sturdy shoes, not flip-flops.
- Bring all the water and snacks you'll need, as facilities on the beach are very limited and seasonal.
- The sun dips behind the canyon walls relatively early in the afternoon, bringing welcome shade.
- Arrive early by boat or hike to claim a good spot before the midday crowds appear.

Gjipe Beach is widely regarded as one of Albania's most remarkable and pristine coastal spots. Positioned between the villages of Dhërmi and Vuno, it sits at the mouth of the spectacular Gjipe Canyon. Its seclusion is its greatest draw, as it is inaccessible by car. Visitors must either hike for about 30 minutes down a rocky path or arrive by boat from nearby towns. The reward is a crescent of white pebbles and turquoise water, framed by towering limestone cliffs that reach up to 70 meters in height. The beach is a sanctuary for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and rock climbers who tackle the canyon walls. Infrastructure is intentionally minimal, typically featuring only a small eco-friendly bar and basic camping spots during the season, preserving its rugged charm. The water is exceptionally clear, making it excellent for snorkeling. The surrounding Mediterranean maquis vegetation fills the air with a fragrant scent. The best time to visit is in the early morning or during the shoulder seasons of June and September. Gjipe has a sense of tranquility and raw natural beauty that is hard to find in more developed areas.
