The Jeyran Ecocenter, located south of Bukhara, is a specialized nature reserve founded in 1977 to save endangered desert animals. Covering an area of approximately 5,000 hectares, the center provides a protected habitat for the goitered gazelle (Jeyran), Przewalski's horse, and the Asian wild ass (Kulan). The institution is intensively dedicated to scientific research and the breeding of rare species for subsequent reintroduction into the wild.
