Tudakul Lake

Tudakul Lake is a memorable blue oasis situated on the edge of the Kyzylkum Desert, just a short drive from Bukhara. Its slightly saline waters are remarkably clear, making it a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing. In recent years, the lake has been transformed into a modern resort destination with the opening of the Silk Road Family Resort, featuring private beaches, water parks, and yachting facilities. Beyond recreation, the lake is an important habitat for migratory birds, attracting birdwatchers from across the region. Fishing is another major draw, as the lake is teeming with various fish species. The visual contrast between the deep blue water and the surrounding desert sands is particularly panoramic at sunset. The lake is approximately a 45-minute drive from Bukhara. The best time to visit is from May to September for water-based activities, while spring and autumn offer the best conditions for nature exploration and birdwatching.
