Gijduvan (Uzbekistan)

Weather…

Gijduvan is world-renowned as the cradle of Uzbekistan's finest ceramics. The town is home to the famous Narzullaev family pottery workshop, where sixth-generation master craftsmen still use traditional techniques and natural dyes. Visitors are welcome to observe the entire production process, from clay preparation to intricate hand-painting, and even try their hand at the potter's wheel. The town also holds significant architectural and spiritual value. It features one of the three madrasahs built by the astronomer-king Ulugbek, and the shrine of Abdulkhalik Gijduvani, a revered Sufi master. Food enthusiasts shouldn't miss the 'Gijduvan Kebab', widely considered the most delicious in Uzbekistan due to its unique preparation and seasoning. Located just 40 kilometers north of Bukhara, Gijduvan is easily accessible for a day trip. While it can be visited year-round, spring and autumn provide the most comfortable weather for exploring its workshops and historic sites.
