Termas de Guaviyú
Termas de Guaviyú is located in the Paysandú department and features a more grounded experience compared to larger resorts. The thermal water here is particularly rich in sulfur and magnesium, making it excellent for skin treatments and muscle relaxation. The facility consists of several circular pools set in a rolling hillside landscape typical of the Uruguayan interior. The area is also historically interesting, as the Artigas Plateau is nearby, a monument to national hero José Gervasio Artigas overlooking the Uruguay River. Visitors to Guaviyú especially appreciate the opportunity to camp amidst nature and silence or stay in cozy bungalows. It is a place where you can feel the true rhythm of the country. The best time to visit is autumn, when temperatures are mild and the landscape glows in golden colors. Local cuisine gives simple but delicious dishes, often cooked over an open fire. Access is straightforward via Route 3, about 60 kilometers north of the city of Paysandú.
