Dibba Al-Fujairah is the second-largest city in the Emirate of Fujairah, located on the scenic eastern coast of the UAE along the Gulf of Oman. The Dibba region is historically unique for being divided into three administrative sectors belonging to Fujairah, Sharjah, and the Sultanate of Oman. The city is framed by the majestic Hajar Mountains, which plunge directly into the sea, creating spectacular fjords and secluded coves. Dibba's history spans millennia; in antiquity, it served as a vital maritime link between Mesopotamia and the Indian subcontinent. In 633 AD, the city was the site of one of the pivotal battles of the Ridda Wars during the early Islamic expansion. Today, Dibba Al-Fujairah is a hub for the fishing and cement industries, while increasingly becoming a premier destination for scuba diving and eco-tourism. The surrounding waters are renowned for their bustling coral reefs and marine biodiversity, establishing the city as a major tourist highlight on the UAE's east coast.
