Zolochiv is a historically significant city in the Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine, situated on the Zolochivka River. The city is a key part of the "Golden Horseshoe" of castles in the Lviv region. Its preeminent landmark is Zolochiv Castle, a 17th-century fortification that served as a royal residence for Jan III Sobieski, King of Poland.
