Water temperature…
Svityaz is the crown jewel of the Shatsk Lakes and the deepest natural lake in Ukraine, reaching a maximum depth of 58 meters. The village on its shore is one of the country's most beloved holiday destinations. The water is remarkably transparent, allowing you to see the sandy bottom even at a depth of several meters. The presence of silver and glycerin ions makes the water feel silky and provides therapeutic benefits for the skin. The lake shore is mostly shallow and sandy, making Svityaz exceptionally family-friendly; you often have to walk a hundred meters into the water before it gets deep. In the middle of the lake lies a mysterious island covered in dense forest, which is a nesting ground for cormorants and other rare birds. Local legends suggest the island appeared as a sanctuary for those fleeing ancient invaders. In the evenings, the waterfront becomes a hub of activity with restaurants serving fresh local fish and traditional donuts. The sunsets over Svityaz are widely considered the most beautiful in Ukraine. For nature enthusiasts, the surrounding Shatsk National Park has birdwatching towers, cycling trails, and quiet spots for meditation in the pine-scented air.
