Włodawa is a unique town at the confluence of the Bug and Włodawka rivers, where the borders of Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine meet. This rich cultural heritage is celebrated annually during the "Festival of Three Cultures," which commemorates the peaceful coexistence of Catholics, Jews, and Orthodox Christians. The city's most impressive monument is the 18th-century Great Synagogue complex, which now houses a museum. Right next to it stand the Baroque St. Louis Church and the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, symbolizing the town's multicultural past. The surrounding Polesie region features pristine nature with forests and lakes, good for biking and kayaking. Włodawa is best reached by car or bus from Lublin. Autumn is a particularly great time to visit to experience the festival and enjoy the fall colors of nature.
