Sharivka Palace
Sharivka Palace, situated in the village of Sharivka within the Kharkiv region, stands as one of the most remarkable examples of Neo-Gothic architecture in Ukraine. Often referred to as the "White Swan" due to its brilliant white walls, the estate's history dates back to 1836, but it reached its architectural zenith in the late 19th century under the ownership of sugar magnate Leopold Koenig. The main building features two prominent octagonal towers and intricate crenellations that give it a fairy-tale appearance overlooking a magnificent landscape. The surrounding terraced park was meticulously designed by the acclaimed landscape architect Georg Kuphaldt and is home to a unique avenue of lime trees with vertically trained branches. The estate complex also includes a library, a guest house, and several outbuildings that reflect the immense wealth and refined taste of the industrial elite of that era. Today, Sharivka Palace is a significant cultural heritage site, attracting visitors who are drawn to its romantic ambiance and historical grandeur.
