The Lutsk Tower in Ostroh, also known as the Lutsk Gate, is a prominent monument of 16th-century Renaissance defensive architecture. It was once a key component of the city's formidable fortification system, established during the reign of the Ostrogski princes to protect this major cultural and religious hub. The massive brick structure is characterized by its semi-circular plan and a highly decorative attic with crenellations, showcasing the stylistic influences of the Northern Renaissance. Originally, the gate controlled the trade route heading toward Lutsk and featured embrasures designed for heavy artillery placement. While much of the city's outer wall was dismantled over time, the Lutsk Tower survived as a symbol of the town's former strength. Today, it houses the Museum of Rare Books and Printing, which pays tribute to the famous Ostroh printing house and the 1581 Ostroh Bible. It remains one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Rivne region, blending military history with cultural heritage.
