Safed Dara, meaning 'White Valley', is Tajikistan's premier winter sports destination. Following an extensive renovation, the ski resort gives modern gondolas, well-maintained slopes, and a comfortable hotel. Located just 50 kilometers from the capital, Dushanbe, it is a popular getaway for both city dwellers and tourists. The altitude of around 2,500 meters guarantees good snow conditions throughout the winter season. Besides skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy snowmobiling, ice skating, or simply the fresh mountain air. In the summer, Safed Dara transforms into a hub for hiking and mountain biking. The on-site gastronomy features both international and traditional Tajik cuisine in modern restaurants. The best time for winter sports is from December to March. Access is most convenient by car or shuttle service from Dushanbe.
