Sasamungga is the largest settlement on the southern coast of Choiseul Island in the Solomon Islands. The town gained historical significance as a center for the Methodist mission, which established a permanent presence here in 1922. Geographically, Sasamungga is situated on a fertile coastal plain that facilitates the cultivation of copra and cocoa, which form the economic basis of the community.
