Yanbu Industrial City (Saudi Arabia)

Weather…

Yanbu Industrial City, situated on the Red Sea, is the western counterpart to Jubail and a central hub for Saudi Arabian industry. Established in 1975 under the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the city transformed from a small fishing village into a major center for petrochemicals and oil refining. Yanbu serves as the terminus for the strategic East-West Pipeline, which transports crude oil from fields in the east directly to the Red Sea, facilitating exports and reducing reliance on the Strait of Hormuz. The city features three distinct port facilities: an industrial port, a commercial port, and a fishing port. In addition to the oil industry, it hosts large plants for the production of plastics, fertilizers, and steel. The urban planning of Yanbu emphasizes sustainability and quality of life, featuring extensive residential areas and green corridors. As a gateway to the West, Yanbu plays a key role in Saudi Arabia's trade relations with Europe and the Americas.
