Wąbrzeźno, formerly Briesen in West Prussia, is a town in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Its unique location between Lake Zamkowe, Lake Frydek, and Lake Sitno makes it an attractive place for tourists. The town's history is closely tied to the Bishops of Chełmno, who owned a castle here from the 13th to the 18th century. Although the castle no longer exists, the Gothic parish church of St. Simon and Jude Thaddeus and the historic town layout bear witness to its rich past. The lakes offer excellent conditions for sailing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. There are well-developed beaches and promenades that invite for walks. The gastronomy in Wąbrzeźno gives traditional Polish dishes, often with fresh fish from the local waters. Cultural events and festivals take place throughout the year, livening up the town. Wąbrzeźno is easily accessible by car or train from the larger cities of Toruń and Grudziądz. The best time to visit is during the summer to take full advantage of the lakes and nature and to enjoy the warm atmosphere of the town.
