Ustroń is the only spa town in the Silesian Beskids, widely recognized for its mild climate and natural healing resources such as brine and peat. The townscape is unique due to the architectural complex in the Zawodzie district, featuring iconic pyramid-shaped sanatoriums built into the slope of Mount Równica, which are masterpieces of Polish modernist design. The local spa facilities (Termy Ustrońskie) allow visitors to soak in highly mineralized brine waters, beneficial for joint and respiratory health. Outdoor enthusiasts can head to Mount Czantoria Wielka (995 m), accessible via a popular chairlift. At the summit, there is an observation tower and a thrilling summer sledge track. On the opposite side of the valley, Mount Równica can be reached by car and features an adventure park and many traditional 'karczma' inns serving regional dishes. A unique attraction is the 'Forest Park of Surprises' (Leśny Park Niespodzianek), where deer and mouflons roam freely among visitors, and birds of prey shows are held daily. Ustroń features a welcoming riverside promenade along the Vistula River, excellent for leisurely walks. The town is conveniently accessible by train or car from Katowice and Bielsko-Biała. Local gastronomy highlights include fresh trout and highlander-style cheeses. Due to its spa status, the town is a year-round destination, with hiking peaking from May to October and winter sports being popular from January to March.
