Laguna Blanca (Paraguay)

Weather…

Laguna Blanca is a unique ecological reserve in the San Pedro Department, renowned for its crystal-clear lake with a white sandy bottom. The body of water covers an area of approximately 150 hectares and is distinguished by its exceptional transparency, which is unusual for inland waters in Paraguay. Geographically, the reserve sits at the transition zone between the Cerrado savanna and the Atlantic Forest, resulting in immense biological diversity. Over 280 bird species have been documented in the region, including many endangered species. Since 2010, the area has been managed as a private nature reserve to protect the delicate water quality and surrounding forests. The lake is fed exclusively by rainwater and local springs, with no surface outflow. Due to its natural beauty and opportunities for birdwatching and water sports, Laguna Blanca has become a premier ecotourism destination in eastern Paraguay.
