With over 30 kilometers of slopes and modern lift infrastructure, Hovden Skisenter attracts skiers of all skill levels. Families particularly appreciate the wide runs and child-friendly terrain. Besides alpine skiing, Hovden is a paradise for cross-country enthusiasts with over 170 kilometers of groomed trails leading through scenic high-mountain landscapes. A unique feature is 'Hovden Badeland', a heated water park that provides relaxation after a day in the snow. Here, visitors can swim in warm pools while the winter chill remains outside. In summer, Hovden gives fantastic opportunities for hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. The river Otra winds through the landscape, well-suited for canoe trips. The region is also known for its rich cultural history, which is kept alive in Setesdal, including local music traditions and silversmithing. Access is possible from Kristiansand in about three hours via the scenic Route 9.
