Cadzand consists of the historic inland village Cadzand-Dorp and the modern Cadzand-Bad directly on the coast. As the southernmost point of the Dutch North Sea coast, the town features an almost Flemish atmosphere due to its immediate proximity to the Belgian border. Cadzand is unique for the millions-of-years-old shark teeth that are washed ashore after storms or by currents, making them a popular souvenir for collectors. In recent years, Cadzand-Bad has undergone extensive modernization and now has one of the most modern marinas in the region. The expansive beaches are lined with high dunes and invite long walks. The nearby Het Zwin nature reserve, which extends across the border into Belgium, is a paradise for migratory birds and nature lovers. Gastronomy in Cadzand is high-end, with several award-winning restaurants offering regional products such as salt-marsh lamb and fresh fish. Arrival is convenient via the N676 road. The best time for a visit is summer for a beach holiday, but also autumn, when the chances of finding shark teeth are particularly good.
