💡 Tips
- Enjoy the unique south-facing beach, which provides more sunshine and shelter from the cold northerly winds.
- Climbing the high dunes via the wooden stairs requires some stamina, but the panoramic views are spectacular.
- In peak summer, parking near the beach is very difficult; consider parking in Westkapelle or Meliskerke and cycling in.
- Check the local tide tables if you plan a long beach walk towards Domburg to avoid getting cut off by the water.

Water temperature…
Zoutelande is located on the Walcheren peninsula and is known for its mild microclimate and for having the most sunshine hours in the Netherlands. The town's unique feature is its beach, which is the only one in the country facing directly south, earning Zoutelande the nickname 'Zeeland Riviera.' The dunes of Zoutelande are among the highest in the country and offer spectacular views over the Westerschelde. A prominent landmark is the Catharinakerk with its characteristic tower. For those interested in history, the Zoutelande Bunker Museum features insights into the Atlantic Wall defense systems from World War II. The village itself is cozy and gives numerous small shops and cafes directly behind the dike. The town gained additional national fame through the popular song 'Zoutelande' by the band BLØF. Zoutelande is a good starting point for cycling tours along the coast to Westkapelle or Domburg. The best time to visit is summer to take full advantage of the sunny climate, but dune walks are also very refreshing in winter.
