Begnas Lake
Begnas Lake is located about 15 kilometers outside Pokhara and is known for its peaceful atmosphere and pristine nature. Unlike the bustling Phewa Lake, it is much quieter here, making it great for travelers looking to escape the crowds. You can rent boats, swim in the clean water, or hike along the forested shores. The region is also famous for fish farming; you should definitely try freshly caught fish in the local restaurants. The surroundings are characterized by terraced fields and small villages that offer a glimpse into traditional Nepalese rural life. Access is easy by taxi or local bus from Pokhara. The best time to visit is from September to June, with the winter months being particularly mild and pleasant.
