Muktinath Temple (Nepal)

Weather…

Muktinath Temple is situated at an altitude of 3,710 meters in the Mustang district, at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass. It is one of the world's unique sacred sites, venerated by both Hindus and Buddhists alike. Hindus refer to the location as Mukti Kshetra, meaning the place of liberation, while Buddhists call it Chumig Gyatsa. The main sanctuary is a small pagoda-style temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The complex is famous for its 108 bronze water spouts shaped like bull heads, where pilgrims perform ritual baths in the freezing holy water. Another spiritual wonder is the eternal flame at Jwala Mai, fueled by natural gas seeping through rock, burning continuously above a water source. The rugged Himalayan landscape combined with deep spiritual significance makes Muktinath a major pilgrimage destination.
