Broummana (Brummana) is a high-altitude luxury resort town in the Mount Lebanon range, overlooking the capital city of Beirut, located just 20 kilometers away. The settlement is situated in the heart of the pine-covered Matn region, at an elevation of approximately 800 meters. Due to its cool climate and unparalleled panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, Broummana has been a favored summer retreat for wealthy Lebanese and foreign diplomats since the 19th century. The town is highly renowned for its top-tier international schools and its animated tourism scene; its streets are lined with elegant boutique hotels, fine dining restaurants, open-air cafes, and trendy nightclubs. The majority of the population consists of Greek Orthodox Christians. Although modern tourism developments have reshaped the urban landscape, old stone houses and traditional Lebanese hospitality continue to define the atmosphere.
